Bonjour les Profs de français!

Bonjour à tous!!

All testing for le Grand Concours 2012 has now been completed, and hopefully all of your answer sheets have been submitted to the scoring center.  I anticipate receiving some preliminary information about results around the middle of April.  I’ll keep you posted.

I thank you all most sincerely for your participation in the National French Contest.  I appreciate your following guidelines and suggestions, and your submitting orders with payments on time.  I hope that many of your students will come through with flying colors.

A couple of you have sent me comments concerning the level 5 test.  Thank you!  I would be happy to receive any and all constructive criticism about the 2012 Contest, and would welcome suggestions that you might have.  If the comments are applicable for National, I’ll send them on to Lisa.  If they concern our Chapter only, I’ll read them carefully and will try to do better next year.  Please do let me know.

The time for awards ceremonies is quickly approaching and I would be grateful if you would please INFORM ME OF THE DATE(S) OF YOUR AWARDS CEREMONY, honors assembly or whatever you have.  I’ll do my best to meet your deadline, but as you know, a lot depends on NationalI have increased our Chapter awards this year as well, so a few more prizes will be awarded this year than last.

Finally, I want to recognize a number of schools who contributed to our increased enrollment this year.  (2011 — 2799 participants; 2012 — 3456.)  I’ll be awarding “free registration” for the 2013 Contest for up to ten students, depending on the percentage increase of your school’s enrollment this year.   School contact teachers will be informed of the exact number of “freebies” you’ll be entitled to for next year.  Schools that showed a 20% to 50% increase from 2011 to 2012 are:  Cincinnati Country Day School, Madeira High School, Mt. Vernon High School, Mt. Notre Dame High School, The Seven Hills School, Westlake High School, and Wyoming High SchoolSchools that showed a 50% to 100% increase are:  Archbishop Hoban High School, Oakwood High School, Mason High School, and Walnut Hills High School.

Schools with over a 100% increase are:  Beaumont School, Lakota West High School, Lakota East Freshman School, Lakota West Freshman School, and Sycamore High School Bravo!
